Pandemic Safety Guidelines

The team at Lee Scolding Hairdressing look forward to welcoming you back to the salon. The safety of our clients and staff is our top priority, and we have developed new procedures for all clients that are visiting the salon.

This has also been planned to ensure that we can offer the best possible service for you, and that your visit to us is as comfortable as it can be. We kindly ask that before your visit you familiarise yourself with our new procedures and any questions you may have will be covered within our frequently asked questions section.

You will receive your booking reminder text 48 hours prior to your appointment which will include a new COVID-19 medical questionnaire to complete and return prior to your appointment.


Social distancing will be practiced in the salon. You will notice the staff wearing face masks, styling sections spread out adhering to social distancing, dividers at the shampoo basins and front desk. All surfaces will be sanitised between clients.


As social distancing will be practiced in the salon we kindly ask for you to wait until your appointment time to enter the salon. Upon arrival, a front desk staff member will check you in.

  • Please do not be late or too early for your appointment as you may be asked to wait outside, if you are more than 5 minutes late we may be unable to carry out your appointment and a charge will be made*. With distancing measures in place, space in the salon is limited so please do not bring friends or children with you.
  • Please have your face covering on before entering the salon.
  • Please wash or sanitize your hands upon arrival.

*We reserve the right to refuse entry to late arrivals as this will impact on the capacity of the salon throughout the day. Late arrivals may be charged 100% of their appointment.

What should I do if I feel unwell?

Please notify the salon immediately if you are self-isolating, if you or anyone living in your household is displaying any of the following symptoms.

  • High-temperature
  • New continuous cough
  • Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Your appointment is reserved especially for you and, whilst we understand that sometimes changes are necessary (we will be sympathetic to Covid-19 cancellations) we respectfully ask that you let us know at least 48 hours’ in advance so we can offer your appointment to a client on our waiting list. click here

Will I be required to wear a face mask?

Yes, the salon will be requiring all clients to wear a face mask (with loops around the ears) whilst in the salon – the removal of the loops around your ears may be required to carry out your hair cut in some sections around your ears. Your mask may get wet during washing your hair so you may wish to bring a spare one if you are going elsewhere after visiting us or a disposable one will be available to purchase for a small fee. Should you have a medical need which restricts you from wearing a mask exceptions can be made at the Managers discretion. Please inform reception when making your booking if this applies to you.

Will the salon provide a mask if I do not have one?

Yes, the salon will provide a disposable mask at check in if you are without a mask upon arrival to your appointment for a small fee of £1.00. (If receiving a colour service you may prefer to use a disposable one as we cannot guarantee colour won’t get on the loops around the ears).

Will there be hand sanitiser or a bathroom I can wash my hands at?

There will be hand sanitiser and tissues at each styling section and at various locations around the salon. We do have a bathroom available also, should you wish to wash your hands.

Will there be any change to my normal service?

Cutting hair dry will not be allowed, to ensure the safety of our clients and staff every client will be required to have their hair cleansed by one of the team – sit back, relax, refresh and enjoy the service.

Can I bring a friend, family member or my child to an appointment?

Only clients with appointments will be allowed to enter the salon at this time. For safety reasons and based on the limitations we are under for the capacity of the salon we ask that friends/family or children that do not have an appointment remain outside the salon. If in an emergency your children have to accompany you or you have a medical need which requires you to be accompanied, exceptions can be made at the Managers discretion. Please inform reception when making your booking if this applies to you.

Where can I park?

Parking is available in the following area but we would highly recommend walking where possible:

Olton Shoppers Car Park – 3 hours free parking
Olton Train Station Car Park – unlimited free parking

Can I continue to use the back door to enter?

No, the use of the back door for entering and exiting the salon will not be permitted.

Will I be required to queue outside?

As the salon is practicing social distancing and limiting the number of clients to the salon, it may be necessary to wait outside temporarily.

Upon arrival a team member will let you know if this is necessary. A chair will be available if you need one.

Will I be served a drink?

Bottles of water will be available in disposable cups. If you wish to bring your own drinks container that’s fine. We will be unable to offer magazines.

Is WIFI available

Yes, please ask a member of the team for the WIFI code.

Will you be offering any discounts?

Unfortunately, all discounts and loyalty points have been temporarily suspended. A new loyalty scheme will be launching soon.

How will I pay?

We will be accepting cash, card payments and ApplePay (we do not accept American Express) Contactless payments will be accepted for purchases under £45.00.

Can you deliver products to my home?

Yes, if you are shielding and unable to visit the salon for hair care we are continuing to offer a door-step delivery service to the Solihull/Olton area or contactless collection should a friend or relative wish to collect for you.

Are house calls going to be allowed?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer home visits.

The Management reserve the right to amend salon prices without prior notice at their own discretion. To cancel, please give us at least 48 hours’ notice.

We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee for any appointments not cancelled at least 48 hours before their booked appointment.
